This large family home in Burnside’s Eastern Foothills is a masterclass in maximising space and views on a substantially sloping block. Designed to capture postcard moments from every level, residents enjoy vistas across the rear garden, treetops, the Adelaide Hills, and city and coastal horizons. Expansive glazing, a private pool courtyard, and soft sheer curtains ensure the home brings the outside in while balancing light control and comfort, creating luxurious, livable spaces throughout.
Meticulous attention to detail guided every aspect of the design, from the warm timber tones, veined stone, and gloss floors to the stone cladding repeated from façade to fireplace. The layout prioritises family living, with the kitchen at the heart of the home and a thoughtful flow between living areas, retreat spaces, and outdoor zones. Vastu principles were integrated seamlessly, with a prayer room, north-east quadrant pool, and master suite positioned for optimal energy flow, while a dramatic double-height entry sets the tone for contemporary elegance.
Engineering and design challenges posed by the steep 46m-long block were met with innovative solutions, including extensive retaining walls, a single-level layout, and precise integration of the garage. Outdoor living is enhanced with a carefully located balcony and BBQ area, while the seamless connection between internal and external spaces ensures both privacy and connectivity. The result is a visually striking, functional, and harmonious home that balances family lifestyle, Vastu alignment, and breathtaking views.
“It was a smooth journey right from the first time we met William for our initial discussions, progressing soon on to drawings, discussion on time frames and the selection process. The team from precision homes were detailed and thorough with their preparation and execution of the build with regular updates and discussions with us once the work commenced.
Where we had specific expectations, they would leave no stone unturned to help us with that. It is highly unlikely we would have had this from any other builder. A good example is that we wanted the house to be ‘vaastu’ compliant (which is the Indian equivalent of Feng Shui). We were surprised by William going to great lengths in learning it and we would certainly vouch his knowledge and practical understanding of the principles of Vaastu. The element of natural light and having the connectedness of inside and outside in the design was important to us. William has done a great job in incorporating that into the design and we are delighted to say that most people who have been to our house have commented positively on this. It was very easy to connect and discuss with William and the PH team even if it was a minor detail that needed to be looked at. After care support is excellent too. The construction is of high standards and certainly speaks to their reputation. Precision Homes most certainly will be our go to in case we were to build another house in the future!”
